Macintosh HD (disk0s2 - HFS+) /Volumes/Macintosh HD : 999.35 GB (634.55 GB free) Problem with start-up - computer is switching itself off / refusing to boot. The mouse goes very jerky and I've tried it a couple of times but same problem each time.ĮtreCheck is working and here's the result from it:Ĭlick the links for more information from Apple Support Communities.Ĭlick the links for more information about that line. It'll run normally for a few minutes but won't finish and seems to get stuck near the end of it. Has anyone experienced this problem before? The only thing I can think of is that it might be a hardware problem and not a software problem, since the computer does work fine once I've reloaded the OS, but after a while it'll just cave in again and stop working.Īpple Hardware Test doesn't seem to be working properly. Again, I've had to go into recovery mode, load OS onto my external drive just so I can access the machine again. Either the loading bar would fill up completely but nothing would happen, or the loading bar would load about half way or so and then the iMac would just switch itself off. Here are my machine specs:īasically I had a massive scare with it last year when out of the blue, my machine wouldn't boot past the Apple logo screen. I've been the proud owner of a lovely Late 2012 iMac 21.5 inch for five years now, however it's now developed some major problems.
